This is a list of my baby essentials for bringing home baby and beyond. There are a ton of lists out there and these items are just a few picks that have either made my life with a newborn so much easier or that I just love and would rather not go without. Having a newborn is hard work and who says it can’t be fun (and a little stylish) for both mom and baby?
1. Freshly Picked Moccasins – There is something almost too adorable about a baby in moccasins. I’ve tried several brands and the quality of Susan’s Freshly Picked Moccasins can’t be beat. She’s recently come out with Next Step Moccs with soles for walking babes. Genius! And her newborn bundle is such a great pack for both mom and baby.
2.Take Home Outfit – Snug As A Bug Clothes has THE CUTEST outfits for babies. Everything I’ve received so far I’ve been super happy with. They’re all just so cute and I can’t wait to dress my little one in these outfits. I love the design and colors.
3.Aden and Anais Burp Bibs – The best thing about these burp bibs is that they cover your entire shoulder and actually stay on. They’re way soft and don’t lose their shape after a wash. As bibs, they totally cover baby’s front and shoulders. Items that can grow with baby are a plus!
4.Lalabu Soothe Shirt – I haven’t actually had a chance to use this yet, but I can’t imagine anything better than being able to wear the baby without all the fuss of wrapping. It’s basically a tank with a kangaroo pouch and I can’t wait to use this. I have a feeling I’ll be in this 24/7 after baby arrives. I’m a huge fan of baby wearing and I love being able to feel so close to my babies and still be hands-free. Other great wraps: Baby K’tan, Solly Baby Wrap, and (for carrier style) Líllé Baby (I love mine.) or Ergo Baby.
5.Aden and Anais Bamboo Swaddles – Bamboo swaddles have changed the way I think about baby blankets. Like Muslin, they’re very breathable but SO much softer. The best part is that they seem to get softer every time you wash them and I haven’t had a problem with these losing they’re shape. The colors and design are modern and chic.
6.Slouch Headgear – I love putting hats on my babies and these slouchy beanies are so soft and so cute. I love that they can grow with baby and the fact that there are adult options is not too shabby.
7.Goumi Mitts – Mittens that actually stay on the baby’s hands! I love it. Especially for the Fall season, keeping baby’s hands covered is a must. I’m also in love with they’re booties!
8.mamaRoo – The only baby gear that made it on my ‘must-have’ for a newborn because it’s THAT good. This is more than just a swing and more than just a bouncy. It really does soothe the inconsolable baby, and at night when you just need to catch a few sleeps this becomes your best friend. It’s worth every penny!
